Below is the Application for Musical
It looks like this...... You can find these outside the Choir Room or on the Theatre Call Board
CLICK HERE to learn the Dance for your audition.
Here's how auditions work......
#1 You MUST be passing to participate in the after school play. No pass, no play.... literally.
#2 Auditions times will be announced and posted outside the Theatre room and on this website.
#3 What makes a complete audition? Four things: your application, your singing audition, your acting audition and your dancing audition. (For UIL it is an acting/dance/application audition, UIL is not a musical, so singing is not part of the UIL audition)
#4 The auditions are semi-private. The directors will call in a small group (usually four) actors to audition at a time. The directors will make notes and you will be dismissed.
#5 There may or may not be a "Call Back" day where the directors ask some students to come back and audition again. Being on the Call Back List does not necessarily mean you have made it or not made it. It simply means that the directors need to look at you again.
#6 The cast list will be posted online and outside the Theatre room after school on the day announced. Rehearsal dates will be announced then.
#7 "But I don't really want to be onstage. Maybe I want to run lights or the sound board. Maybe I am a great artist and want to paint the scenery or I can work a glue-gun like a pro, what do I do?" Come talk to us!!!!!! This year's musical is a beast, we would love any help even if it can't be a full time thing. :)
UIL has a crew of 5, we need Stage Managers, Light techs, Sound techs, Prop and Costumes.
#8 DON'T WORRY ABOUT CONFLICTS WITH OTHER ACTIVITIES!!!!!!! This fall is such a big show, we won't need all the kids all the time. Some days we will work scenes that only involve a few actors, it would be a waste for everyone to be there. Chances are we will be able to work something out with conflicts.
UIL has a totally different schedule that will be announced.
